|Instructions for this assessment||This is a written assessment and it will be assessing you on your skills and knowledge of the unit.
This assessment is in three parts:
1. Allocate work.
2. Performance management and review process.
3. Assess performance.

|Submission instructions||On completion of this assessment, you are required to upload it to Moodle for marking.
Ensure you have typed your name on the front page of this assessment.
It is important that you keep a copy of all assessments submitted to TAFE and complete the assessment declaration when submitting the assessment.
|What do I need to do to achieve a satisfactory result?||To achieve a satisfactory result for this assessment:
§ all questions must be answered correctly and in your own words. Tips to avoid plagiarism are located on the TAFE NSW Library Services page (https://tafensw.libguides.com/copyright/plagiarism)
§ you will be available at a time arranged with your assessor to complete all the assessment criteria as outlined in the assessment instructions
§ all parts of the observable task must be performed to a satisfactory level as indicated in the criteria section of the Assessor Observation Checklist
|What do I need to provide?||Access to:
§ business technology including a computer with MS Teams and other relevant software and internet
§ learner guide, training materials and other research you have completed.
Where the consultation is not being assessed in real-time by the teacher, you may also require access to:

|Due date and time allowed||You should allow a minimum of six hours to complete this assessment. You may need additional time for preparation, research, consultation and revision to ensure you have responded to each question satisfactorily.
The assessment must be submitted by the due date noted on the Unit Assessment Guide.
|Supervision||Part 1 and 3 are unsupervised assessment tasks.
Part 2 is a supervised assessment task. Part 2 must be observed by your assessor. Refer to the specific instructions for details on how to complete this part.
Your assessor may ask for additional evidence to verify the authenticity of your submission and confirm that the assessment task was completed by you. This may include oral questioning, comparison with in-class work samples, or observation.
|Assessment feedback, review or appeals||In accordance with the TAFE NSW policy Manage Assessment Appeals, all students have the right to appeal an assessment decision in relation to how the assessment was conducted and the outcome of the assessment. Appeals must be lodged within 14 working days of the formal notification of the result of the assessment.
If you would like to request a review of your results or if you have any concerns about your results, contact your Teacher or Head Teacher. If they are unavailable, contact the Student Administration Officer.

In this assessment, you will consult with relevant stakeholders to identify work requirements, performance standards and agreed performance indicators, develop work plans, allocate work, design a performance management system and provide feedback on performance.
This assessment consists of three parts where you will complete:

Case Study Scenario:
This scenario is based on the simulated organisation Plan2go. Information about Plan2go is located on the Moodle and at https://plan2go.nctafe.edu.au/intranet/crew-spaces/customer-experience-crew/.
You are part of a project management team of four at Plan2go, a travel and events company.
Your project team goal is: Design and implement a performance management system for the Customer Experience Crew (customer service department) at Plan2go who work from home, within a four-week timeframe.
To complete this part of the assessment, read the Case Study Scenario and complete your responses to questions 1-6 in the spaces provided.
1- HR and management need to define the job itself, including a comprehensive description, long and short-term goals, identify key objectives and develop a clear metric for how those objectives and goals will be assessed. Goals should be clear, done in the SMART format as to how effective this performance management system needs to be.
2- Once management has completed the defining stage, employees should have the opportunity to give input on this material.
3- Management and employees both agree to the definition of the role, goals and objectives.
4- Budget is prepared for 4 weeks
5- Once the parameters of the job and objectives for the future have been set, the next step of the performance management process begins. The coaching process is extremely important and must be done on a regular basis. Meetings should be at least quarterly, although monthly meetings are the ideal.
6- As the performance management process continues, management should revisit objectives to see if adjustments should be made, as well as pay attention to career development opportunities for their employees. This step involves reviewing the overall performance of the employee, how well the process itself worked, and it also includes the reward – which is an extremely important part of the overall process.
