1. Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5 is very valiant and fearless and it sounds like something bad is going to happen like a struggle. The combination of instruments starts with the first four chords that are ominous and I wonder what is going to happen next it sounds intense and rip-roaring. Even though it has an antagonistic sound Beethoven uses spiccato to give the music a lighter sound. He adds piano, trombones, piccolo and contrabassoon, flutes, oboes, clarinets, bassoons, contrabassoon, horns, trumpets, and timpani, and strings. This piece is staccato, antiphonal, and is percussive and it fast and lively. It has both major and minor chords, what I like about this piece is that is very electrifying and exciting and seems to thrill me and it bring my ear satisfaction also, it will grasp the audience attention.

2. Beethoven’s Für Elise is deeply melodic and gives me an nostalgic feeling, it’s beautiful, romantic and is a pleasurable tune I enjoy. It has a smooth slow sound but the tempo speeds up a bit. Für Eliseis based on the scale that is anchored by the A key. Keys are divided into major and minor depending on the interval of the notes. The piano sound is very differentiating. The piece has a tempo and allegro and the use of crescendo also a decrescendo like playing arpeggios. The final note establishes the key of the piece, A minor. This piece has a presto pace and it’s a very joyful and high spirited.

3. Ave Maria by Franz Schubert is a shaded, mellow sound that I grew up on and love listening to. I use to go to a catholic church and say prayers with this music playing in the background, it made me feel secure and safe it very relaxing and peaceful. This music also make me think about my parents that passed away. This piece has use of crescendo and decrescendo. The sound of the piano is very vigorous in this performance and Barbara Booney also play this musical in soprano and in bach’s there are many different instrumental arrangements including violin, guitar, string quartet, piano solo, cello and even trombones. This musical piece has a melodic tone, and the music tempo overall seems to be a adagio.

4. Waltz of the Flower by Tchaikovsky is euphoric, moderate and delighted. This reminds me of Disney princess movies and the Nutcracker. This musical piece notes is staccato and the piece does not immediately start with a celebratory feel, but it build up throughout the duration of the work to make the climaxes even more effective for the listener it becomes rapid (affrettando). The instruments used to play it were the piano, the violin, french horns and clarinets and the bass, the glissandos played by the harp. Its has a crescendo and decrescendo use and also major and minor keys. This musical piece ends very, very loud! with the entire orchestra playing.  It finishes with a rather grand, full carnival feeling. This piece makes me feel happy and very relax and makes me want to attend a ball and dance.

5. Sugar Plum Fairy by Tchaikovsky also is from the Nutcracker and it’s also use in holiday movies. This music peace has a pianoforte sound which it gets quiet and loud. This piece has major and minor key just like Waltz of the flower, this musical has a crafty devious sound but also has a cartoonish/animated sound (Onomatopoeia). It has a melodic sound and harmonic. The instrument played in this is the flute, oboe, cor anglaise, clarinet, bass clarinet, bassoon, horn, celesta and the string family. Sugar Plum Fairy is a combination of a homophonic and polyphonic piece. The song is constantly crescendo and decrescendo. The main melody repeats as well throughout the piece This pieces makes me feel exuberance and romantic.

6. Mozart- Symphony No. 40 in G minor has a Molto allegro tempo. It has a orchestra structure and it employs in sonata form. It’s mostly homophonic and it’s Dialogue between woodwind and strings and it is also crescendo. The instrument in this piece are Flute, two oboes, two clarinets, two bassoons, two horns, strings. The G minor Symphony is the work in which Classicism and Romanticism meets and it also has a suspenseful sound it dwells in that emotional ambivalence and wistfulness.
